This website provides public information about the DeammRecirc project aiming at developing a deammonification treatment to remove nitrogen from recirculated aquaculture water. DeammRecirc is initiated by the Swiss SME, cyklar-stultz GmbH, and funded by "Research for SMEs" within the EU 7th Framework Programme.

Official start date of the project was 1 January 2011. The project period is 24 months.

Project Results

Present status of DeammRecirc

The first 4 months of the project period were used to enhance scientific understanding and create a sound basis for the technological development. The results of this work have been presented to the project consortium in 3 deliverable reports/documents of which one presenting an overview of naturally occurring deammonification in marine and freshwater system, is publically available via this website.
